Fillers

Just as with the pasty OMNICHROMA, the fillers of the new OMNICHROMA FLOW consist of size- and shape-controlled supra-nano particles (260nm). However, conventional composites, whether pasty or flowable, usually contain only irregularly crushed or ground glass particles. Nevertheless, control over the spherical filler particles is essential for Smart Chromatic Technology and the creation of structural colour – colour through light. This is because only controlled filler particles enable controlled refraction of light.

Compressive strength

Pasty materials are generally considered stronger and more resilient due to their more solid consistency. However, the new OMNICHROMA FLOW proves that flowable composites can still be resilient and withstand all the demands of everyday life. Strong, even under pressure and stress.

Polymerisation shrinkage

Pasty materials have a higher filler content than flowable composites, resulting in lower polymerisation shrinkage. OMNICHROMA FLOW nevertheless has a high filler content for a flow material (70% weight / 57% volume), so that the polymerisation shrinkage is only slightly higher than for pasty materials, but significantly lower than for conventional flow composites.
